[HIGHLIGHTS] SK: derailment of cars at Krasnaya Railway could have occurred due to the train’s auto brakes being activated

Freight train's automatic brakes worked, resulting in the derailment of three tail cars loaded with coal. Passenger train traveling in the opposite direction from Krasnoyarsk to Abakan did not have time to stop and collided with an overturned carriage.

Due to a collision of rolling trains, one wheel pair of an electric locomotive of a passenger train came off, the report clarifies. The derailment could have occurred as a result of the operation of the automatic brakes of a freight train.
