The Ukrainian minister himself announced this on his Twitter page.

“I had a meaningful and substantive conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken against the background of Russia's systemic aggravation of the security situation in eastern Ukraine and Crimea.

We discussed the directions of strengthening cooperation in the field of security, ”he wrote.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in eastern Ukraine with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French leader Emmanuel Macron via videoconference.

Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum held there in March 2014, in which most residents voted in favor of reunification with Russia.
