Lübeck (dpa / lno) - In the trial of the murder of his 27-year-old ex-girlfriend, the defendant apologized.
He is very sorry for what has happened and he asks everyone concerned for forgiveness, said the 30-year-old on Tuesday in a statement before the Lübeck district court.
However, he did not make a direct confession.
The man is accused of having injured his former partner with 28 stab wounds in September 2020 so badly that she died on the scene.
He has no memory of the act itself, said the defendant in his statement announced on the previous day of the trial.
He only realized the death of his ex-girlfriend, with whom he has two children, days later in the correctional facility, he said in court.
