March 24, 2021 The EU and the UK reached an agreement in the negotiations held in Brussels on the commitment to create the conditions for a "win-win" on the supply of anti-covid vaccines in order to "expand their distribution to all our citizens ".

This was read in a joint statement by the Commission and Boris Johnson's government released in London.

"Openness and global cooperation between all countries will be the key to definitively overcome" this health emergency "and better prepare to face future challenges", both sides acknowledge.

"We are all facing the same pandemic and the third wave makes cooperation between the EU and the UK even more important," reads the joint statement, which comes in the midst of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine supply dispute.

And he continues: "We have discussed what else we can do to ensure a mutually beneficial relationship between the UK and the EU on Covid-19. Given our interdependencies, we are working on specific steps that we can take in the short, medium and long term. ".

Then the text concludes: "In the end, openness and global cooperation will be the key to finally overcome this pandemic and ensure better preparedness to face future challenges. We would continue our discussions."
