The announcement that the regions in the four northernmost counties no longer want to pay for pollen measurements has consequences.

Of course, people with allergies who previously relied on the reports are mainly affected, but it also affects SVT's meteorologists who normally report pollen occurrence throughout the country.

This year it will be different.

- If you have no values, you can not make a forecast.

It is the Swedish Museum of Natural History that makes the forecast that we share, says meteorologist Pererik Åberg.

Can you not statistically see when that pollen occurrence will be at its worst?

- You could, the problem is that temperature and precipitation play a role in pollen, even how the light is located.

The weather forecast gives a lot of information about what happens to pollen.

I think it is important that the report remains, says Pererik Åberg.
