A month after the events, the trauma remains within the Gagnard family in L'Isle-Jourdain, a town of 9,000 inhabitants east of the Gers.

“My wife has nightmares every night and with her mother, they no longer dare to leave their home,” explains Guillaume.

His wife Miao, who was five months pregnant, and his mother-in-law Jian-Lu were attacked by their neighbor's Malinois shepherd on February 17 shortly after 10:30 a.m., while walking near their home.

Transported to the Purpan University Hospital in Toulouse, they will not leave until around 8 p.m.

"I was at work when the facts took place and, when I arrived on site immediately after the attack, the gendarmes and firefighters had not yet arrived," Guillaume Gagnard advance.
