Dresden / Bremen (dpa / sa) - The Erzgebirgskreis in Saxony is worried about an investment of five million euros in the troubled Greensill Bank.

This was announced by the district's district office on Monday.

The sum was invested on February 14 with a term until October 28 and an interest rate of 0.15 percent.

The bank had a solid valuation at the time.

The Erzgebirgskreis is now threatened with "because of this bank failure a very substantial loss up to total failure," it says.

In all of Germany, many municipalities are affected as investors, as is the state of Thuringia, which, according to the Ministry of Finance, is an endangered investment of a total of 50 million euros.
