growing number of countries are temporarily suspending AstraZeneca vaccination in Europe.

Italian government today (12th) announced that it will temporarily suspend the use of some AstraZeneca vaccines.



The discontinuation of vaccination was the quantity produced by the manufacturing unit called'ABV2856' among the AstraZeneca vaccines.



In Italy, two people who had previously received this manufacturing unit's vaccine each died of heart attack and thrombosis.



In Austria and Denmark, one person each died of thrombosis, etc., and all of them were confirmed to have received the AstraZeneca vaccine produced in a manufacturing unit called'ABV5300'.



Vaccines in this manufacturing unit have been supplied in 1 million doses in 17 European countries.



As a result, Denmark, Austria, Norway, Iceland, Romania and the Baltic States have also temporarily suspended AstraZeneca vaccination.



Of the 3 million people who received the AstraZeneca vaccine in Europe by the last 9 days of local time, all 22 cases of thrombosis were reported.



However, the European Medicines Agency says the causal relationship between vaccination and blood clots has not been confirmed.



The UK, France, Germany and Australia have also announced that they will continue to be vaccinated against AstraZeneca.
