After the dissolution of Parliament, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune decreed that early legislative elections will take place on June 12, 2021, the presidential services announced on Thursday March 11 in a statement.
In mid-February, Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced the dissolution of Parliament and the holding of early elections, without specifying their date.
"Under the provisions of article 151, paragraph 2, of the Constitution, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, today signed 27 Rajab 1442, corresponding to March 11, 2021, the presidential decree 96-01 relating to the convening of the electorate for the legislative elections, the date of which is set for Saturday, June 12, 2021 ", the statement said, according to the Algerian Presse Service agency.
