Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - 40 medical practices in Baden-Württemberg are involved in the pilot project for the first corona vaccinations in medical practices.

According to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV) from Friday, people over 80 years of age should be written to from next Monday and vaccination appointments in the practices will be offered to them.

Even those over 80 in need of care who live at home would be taken into account, said KV spokesman Kai Sonntag.

Home visits for the vaccinations would be arranged with them.

Only the vaccine from Biontech / Pfizer is vaccinated.

The plan is to provide each of these practices with around 50 doses per week.

According to Sonntag, the pilot project will test the supply chains as well as the documentation and the transfer of information to the Robert Koch Institute.

This creates the prerequisites for a smooth and seamless transition from vaccinations to general practitioners' practices on a large scale in the future.
