Ludwigslust (dpa / mv) - Ludwigslust-Parchim is the first district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to start vaccinating kindergarten teachers and primary school teachers against the corona virus with a concerted campaign on Friday.

The demand is great, said a district spokesman on Wednesday.

The municipality expects more than 170 educators willing to vaccinate from the Ludwigslust region on Friday.

The inquiries were currently being made in the daycare centers, and a timed schedule would then be drawn up.

The vaccination campaign is expected to continue into the evening.

The Ludwigsluster town hall, where a vaccination center already exists, is to be used for the vaccination campaign.

In the coming days a plan will be drawn up as to how quickly the vaccination can be continued in the various regions of the district.

According to the district spokesman, suitable premises must be discussed with the municipalities.

After criticism from the municipalities, the country opened the Astrazeneca vaccine for the next priority group on Tuesday.

Group two includes educators, teachers, police officers and medical practitioners under 65 years of age;

in group one there are mainly caregivers.
