The Japanese media evaluated President Moon Jae-in's remarks on the March 1st commemoration as "no new proposals".

Kyodo News reported that President Moon's major remarks as breaking news and analyzed that "I emphasized the intention to pursue cooperation with Japan in isolation from the historical issue, but there were no specific requests or new proposals for the Japanese government."

President Moon attended the March 1st celebration of the 102nd anniversary held at Tapgol Park in Seoul on the morning of the 1st, saying, "Our government is always ready to sit face to face with the Japanese government to have a conversation." Then, once again, he threw a message of oil painting on Japan.

However, Kyodo News Agency assessed that President Moon did not comment on any concrete actions to overcome the conflict between Korea and Japan.

He also added, "We still do not see the prospect of breaking the situation with a speech without a clear message about Japan and the former comfort women and Japanese conscription workers."

The Yomiuri Shimbun, Japan's largest daily newspaper, analyzed that President Moon expressed his willingness to improve relations between Korea and Japan and also expressed his intention to demand a proactive response from the Japanese side.
