Liberal Democratic Party approves proposal to add ``specific skills'' to four fields including automobile transportation and railways. The government plans to make a decision at a cabinet meeting next week.
"Specified Skilled Worker No. 1" is a status of residence granted to foreigners who are recognized as having specialized skills and can stay for up to five years. In addition, we expect to accept up to 820,000 foreigners in 16 fields, including 4 newly added fields, over the five-year period starting from April this year.
