Mannheim (dpa / lsw) - A drunk driver fled the police in Mannheim and damaged several cars.
According to the police, the 35-year-old man should be checked on Friday evening.
He then drove towards an officer who jumped to safety.
The man then sped away in his car and collided with a parked vehicle and a patrol car.
He then drove towards another patrol car, but the officer avoided the sidewalk.
The man later parked the badly damaged car and fled on foot.
The police caught up with him and arrested him.
A breath alcohol test showed a value of 2.4 per thousand.
In addition, he did not have a driving license.
His car was confiscated.
The total damage is estimated at around 46,000 euros.
