Berlin (dpa / lhe) - In Hesse, 780 new infections with the corona virus were registered within 24 hours.
This is based on data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Saturday (as of 03:10).
The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within the past seven days (incidence) was 63.9.
On Friday it was 61.2.
According to the RKI, a total of 187,791 cases have been detected in Hesse since the start of the pandemic.
The number of deaths related to the virus increased by 14 to 5815 in one day.
According to the intensive care register of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive and Emergency Medicine (Divi), 268 Covid 19 patients were treated in intensive care units in Hesse (as of Saturday, 8:19 a.m.).
143 of them were ventilated.
1685 of the total of 1942 available intensive care beds in the state were occupied.
So far, according to the RKI, 262,941 Hessen have received their first vaccination dose against the coronavirus (as of February 26).
In 126,985 cases, the second vaccination dose was also administered.
