Rostock (dpa / mv) - 185 new corona infections were reported in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on Friday.

This was 13 less than on Friday last week, as the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) announced.

The incidence, i.e. the number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week, fell slightly by 2.6 points to 61.0.

Nine people died in connection with Covid-19, bringing the number to a total of 736.

At 111.2, the seven-day incidence in Vorpommern-Greifswald is still the highest, followed by Northwest Mecklenburg with 80.1.

According to Lagus, the value is lowest in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen at 13.8.

The Hanseatic city of Rostock is also below the important threshold of 35 with 27.7.

At 74.1, the Rostock district is now well above the important incidence mark of 50. Therefore, compulsory attendance in schools there was lifted again from Monday.

"We see an increasing number of small outbreaks in facilities such as daycare centers, hospitals, day care in the professional environment as well as in the family area," said a spokeswoman.

The total number of proven corona infections in the northeast is now 24 313, and 21 268 people are considered recovered.

The number of corona patients treated in clinics is currently 256, 16 fewer than the previous day, the number of those in intensive care units 43, four fewer than the day before.

According to Lagus, 124 901 corona vaccine doses have so far been administered in the northeast.

77,822 people received a first vaccination, 47,679 the second.
