Aksyonov also noted that in Crimea, in contrast to the situation in Ukraine, the economy, infrastructure and social sphere are currently successfully developing, as well as unique facilities are being built.

The "Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea", previously created by Kiev, reported suspicion to Aksyonov and Konstantinov "of committing a large-scale and systematic appropriation of public property."
Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum was held there in March 2014, in which most of the inhabitants of the peninsula spoke out in favor of reunification with Russia.
