Munich (AP) - Bayern boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has questioned the long-term stay of national soccer player Niklas Süle with Munich.

"If we find a solution, we are generally ready to extend the contract, but that will only be possible under certain conditions," said the CEO of the German record champions in the ZDF "sports studio".

Süle's contract with Bayern expires on June 30, 2022.

"Talks are now being held, then we'll see what the outcome will be," said Rummenigge.

Basically, it is the goal of Munich to retain the good German national players.

But the club must also pay attention to the tighter finances in the Corona crisis.

"We'll look at it seriously and calmly until the summer," said Rummenigge.

He could not foresee the results of the negotiations with Süle.

The 25-year-old central defender moved from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim to Bayern in the summer of 2017.

This season he is no longer the first choice under coach Hansi Flick.

Munich have already signed Dayot Upamecano (22) from RB Leipzig to replace the defensive boss David Alaba (28), who is leaving at the end of the season.
