The Norwegian Sturla Holm Laegreid was crowned Wednesday world champion of the Individual in biathlon while the French Quentin Fillon-Maillet, fourth, again failed at the foot of the podium.

At 23, Laegreid, revelation of the season, won his first individual world title, and the second in Slovenia, after that won with the Norwegian mixed relay.

Laegreid, who succeeds Martin Fourcade, confirmed that he was already one of the best triggers on the circuit by achieving a clear shot (20/20) and ahead of the German Arnd Peiffer and the Norwegian Johannes Dale .

Laegreid takes the opportunity to seize the small globe of the Individual, the first of his young career.

On the French side, the disappointment is enormous for Quentin Fillon-Maillet.

Still without a medal during these Worlds, the N.1 tricolor, author of two rifle errors, finished in a frustrating 4th place as in the pursuit on Sunday, despite a very good form on the skis.

The Norwegian Johannes Boe, double-holding and leader of the World Cup, finished 5th and has still not won a gold medal in solo.
