On Thursday, Saxony's government wants to present the cornerstones of its new protection ordinance.

Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) spoke of a clear timetable and a horizon for further easing on Wednesday evening following the conversation with the state leaders and Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU).

In principle, the applicable measures to combat the corona pandemic will be extended until March 7th.

If the seven-day value of new infections has fallen steadily below 35 by then, the restrictions should be gradually relaxed by the countries.

Then retail, museums and galleries as well as companies with body-friendly services could reopen under specific conditions, it said.

The hairdressers should be allowed to reopen at the beginning of March, subject to hygiene requirements.

The Saxon government had previously announced that daycare centers and primary schools would be reopened in restricted operations from next Monday.

Groups should remain strictly separated.

There is no obligation to attend school, parents should decide for themselves.
