Hamburg (dpa) - According to an analysis, almost every third child shows psychological abnormalities less than a year after the start of the corona pandemic in Germany.

That is the result of the second survey of the so-called Copsy study of the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), which was presented on Wednesday.

Worries and fears have increased again, and depressive symptoms and psychosomatic complaints are also increasingly observed, said the head of the study, Ulrike Ravens-Sieberer.

The quality of life has continued to deteriorate.

The Copsy study is said to be the first of its kind in Germany. From mid-December to mid-January, more than 1,000 children and young people and more than 1,600 parents took part in an online questionnaire.

The study focused on 7 to 17 year olds.
