Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - The dispute between the airlines Condor and Lufthansa continues to escalate.

In addition to the already tough competition proceedings at the Federal Cartel Office, the vacation airline Condor is examining further legal steps against the Lufthansa Group.

According to information from the news magazine “Der Spiegel”, this could include a complaint to the European Union.

The starting point would be government corona aid of nine billion euros, which should not be used to crowd out competitors.

A Condor spokeswoman did not want to confirm the specific step to Brussels on Friday.

Check all legal options, she said.

The also state-supported Condor accuses its larger competitor of a displacement strategy after Lufthansa terminated a long-term contract for feeder flights to Condor long-distance travel.

This makes connecting connections with a change of airline more difficult to book and more risky for organizers and passengers.

Lufthansa used to be liable for delays at the feeder.

The Condor itself cannot set up such a feeder network.

Lufthansa wants to get more involved in the business of long-haul tourist flights and has therefore founded the new "Eurowings Discover" flight company, on which tourist flights are bundled.

This position was also confirmed on Friday: "It would be irresponsible to neglect the capacity utilization of our aircraft and thereby endanger other jobs at Lufthansa," said a spokeswoman.
