The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasul, announced the dismantling of a terrorist detachment, including a suicide bomber who was intending to blow himself up in the capital, Baghdad, in conjunction with the security authorities' announcement of the arrest of five ISIS elements in Kirkuk.

Rasul stated, in a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), yesterday that the detachments of the National Security Agency in the governorates of Salah al-Din and Diyala had managed to dismantle a terrorist detachment belonging to the so-called "Diyala Boycott" and to arrest its four members, and that among them a suicide bomber was planning To blow himself up earlier in Baghdad, as well as arrest the commander of the detachment, a transporter and a soldier.

For its part, the Iraqi security authorities announced yesterday the arrest of five ISIS elements in a security operation in Kirkuk.

The Ministry of Interior said, in a press statement, that the Kirkuk Directorate's intelligence agency managed to arrest five terrorists, including a woman, in separate areas of Kirkuk Governorate, wanted in accordance with the provisions of the Terrorism Law for their affiliation with "ISIS" terrorist gangs.

For its part, the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Authority announced yesterday that five of its members were killed while confronting a violent attack by the "ISIS" organization in Naft Khaneh, east of Diyala.

The Authority’s Media Directorate said, in a statement on its Twitter account, that the dead were from the First Brigade.

On the other hand, the leader of the Iraqi Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed yesterday the importance of international monitoring of early parliamentary general elections, expected next October, without interfering in the electoral affairs and its details, because that is the responsibility of the Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq.

Al-Hakim stressed, during his meeting with the ambassador of the Russian Federation in Iraq, Maxim Maximov, the need for early elections to be held as scheduled.
