Rampe (dpa / mv) - Attacks on cigarette and ATMs last year resulted in damage of more than half a million euros in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

This is around 160,000 euros less than in 2019, as the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) announced.

The amount of damage in both years was therefore almost exclusively due to attacks on cigarette machines.

According to the LKA, 91 attacks on cigarette machines were recorded in the past year, in 18 cases the attempt remained.

These two figures therefore remained almost unchanged compared to 2019.

According to the information, three attacks on ATMs in the northeast were counted in 2020, one attempt was successful, causing damage of around 15,000 euros.

An attempt was therefore also successful the year before, where the amount of damage was slightly lower.
