Events: Three of the boilers of the building that exploded on Toledo Street were not registered
The Municipal Police has cordoned off a section of Toledo Street for a few hours this Friday night after registering
a gas leak
during some works.
Specifically, the escape has occurred
at number 94
of the central Toledo street, very close to the place where last Wednesday an explosion was registered in a priestly residence located at number 98 as a result of which four people died and there were a dozen injured.
Canal de Isabel II operators were working in a ditch in the street when
they punctured a gas pipe,
which has caused the leak, according to sources from Emergencias Madrid.
The Municipal Police has appeared at the scene after receiving the notice at 10.20 pm and has cordoned off an area of the street to facilitate the work of the emergency services.
Police officers from the City Council Fire Department and gas technicians immediately came to the scene, pinching the pipe, and verified that
no gas bag had formed.
The affected building is located at 94 Toledo Street and was inhabited, although
the residents have not been evicted
and have only been urged to close the windows during the work on the site.
