Officially, Russia is ready to work with the new American administration.
Moscow even explains showing flexibility in its relationship with Washington as long as certain red lines are not crossed.
Yet since yesterday, Russia has accused the United States Embassy in Moscow of interfering in Russia's internal affairs by broadcasting the sites and times at which rallies in support of Alexeï Navalny took place.
"
In a roundabout way, it is direct support for the violation of the laws of the Russian Federation, support for unauthorized action
," explained Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Vladimir Putin, on the first channel of public television Russian.
If our embassy had done the same thing when there were overflows in the United States, and there are still some, I think it certainly would have caused unease in Washington.
"
The United States is defending itself against these accusations.
The publication of this information was only intended to warn American nationals to avoid going to the places concerned.
A defense which obviously struggles to convince the Russian authorities.
