Berlin (dpa / bb) - The federal and state governments will discuss how to proceed in the corona crisis on Tuesday (2 p.m.).

It is becoming apparent that the corona measures will be extended into February.

Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) said on Monday in Berlin: "It is better if we can now bring the numbers down significantly for the next two, three, maybe four weeks together and reduce contacts."

Berlin's governing mayor and chairman of the Prime Minister's Conference, Michael Müller (SPD), said on Friday that there are already severe restrictions in the private and domestic sectors, but he still sees room for maneuver in companies.

This also includes the question of a clearer home office rule.

The SPD bosses Norbert Walter-Borjans and Saskia Esken declared on Monday: "It is less about tightening through additional measures than about tightening through more consistent application."

Currently, 15 percent of employees work from home.

“We had 27 percent in the first wave.

So you can see that much more is possible, ”said Esken.

If this is not possible, you have to test at least weekly and wear masks at work.

The usual session of the Senate on Tuesday is canceled because of the federal-state deliberations.

Instead, the Senate is expected to discuss the results on Wednesday.

The lockdown, which has already been tightened recently, is planned until the end of January.

Vice Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) said on Sunday evening in the “Bild” talk: “I assume that it can be 14 days that will come again.”
