Flensburg / Kiel (dpa / lno) - More than 20 suspected cases of mutated corona viruses have been found in Flensburg.
It is about laboratory results that have now been sent to the national consulting laboratory for coronaviruses at the Charité in Berlin for the purpose of confirming and determining which mutation is exactly, said Flensburg's city spokesman Clemens Teschendorf on Monday the German press agency.
The «Flensburger Tageblatt» had previously reported online.
According to Teschendorf, the results from Berlin are expected in the middle of the week.
Only then will it be clear whether it is actually the variant that was first discovered in Great Britain.
It is suspected of being particularly contagious.
On Saturday, the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district announced that, according to information from Berlin, a coronavirus sample was very likely part of this virus line.

The Kiel Ministry of Health announced the day before that the mutation of the coronavirus, which was widespread in Great Britain and has also been detected in Denmark, has very likely reached Schleswig-Holstein.
Several samples from the northernmost state are in Berlin for clarification.
"Individual evidence as well as indications of a high probability of the existence of the new variant were confirmed," it said.
