To get around the blocking of the Google Play Store,

Huawei

has embarked on the development of portable PCs, at competitive prices and quality.

But the outgoing president has just banned several of his suppliers from trading with him.

Among them, Intel, world leader in semiconductors, which allows it to manufacture Windows PCs.

Blacklist

Huawei has been on the United States' blacklist since May 2019. And as such, no American company, or even foreign if it depends on an American firm, has the right to work with it.

Intel had therefore obtained a special exemption, which has just been revoked, according to Reuters.

A heavy blow for the PC activity of the Chinese manufacturer which according to the Trump administration represents a threat to the security of the United States and to foreign policy interests.

At least eight special licenses of several companies that work with the Chinese giant have also been revoked by Washington.

This is the case of the Japanese memory chip maker Kioxia Corp, formerly Toshiba Memory Corp.

What will Biden's position be?

The Trump administration has also reportedly decided to no longer grant new licenses to certain American companies.

It remains to be seen, however, what will be the position of President-elect Joe Biden vis-à-vis this issue, when he joins the White House.
