Accused of cyberstalking against the journalist and anti-Islamist activist Zineb El Rhazou, the founder of the NGO BarakaCity recently dissolved by the government, Idriss Sihamedi, was released this Friday by the Paris Criminal Court.

The messages posted on Twitter by the defendant, whose real name Driss Yemmou, was indeed cyberstalking, recognized the court, but he ruled that there was however "no evidence of the effective deterioration of the living conditions of Ms. Zineb El Razhoui ”.

Zineb El Razhoui admitted to exchanging messages with the defendant

"In terms of harassment, repeated behavior must have had a definite and direct impact on the lives of others," recalled the president.

The magistrate recalled that the former journalist of Charlie Hebdo had herself exchanged a private correspondence with the defendant, in which "she said that she was not at all destabilized by the insults and the invective addressed to her" .

"As a result, the court acquits Mr. Yemmou Driss of the charges against him", ruled the court.

The prosecution had requested ten months suspended prison sentence against Idriss Sihamedi.

Contacted, the two of the defendant's lawyers, Mes Ouadie Elhammamouchi and Sefen Guez Guez, welcomed this "very good news".

The former journalist under police protection since 2015

Idriss Sihamedi was prosecuted for sending more than 80 tweets to Zineb El Rhazoui between September 23 and October 11.

Some revealed elements of the journalist's private life and were accompanied by the mention #balancezinebelrhazoui or #zinebgate.

One of the subscribers to Idriss Sihamedi's account had not hesitated to distribute the private address of Zineb El Rhazoui, who, constantly threatened, has been living under police protection since 2015.

The publication of these tweets is the subject of another procedure before the 17th criminal chamber of the Paris court for "public insult".

The judgment in this case is expected on March 3.
