Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - Even in difficult Corona times: The soccer business remains fast-moving and has little mercy with the Bundesliga coaches.

Lucien Favre (Borussia Dortmund), David Wagner and Manuel Baum (both Schalke 04), Achim Beierlorzer and Jan-Moritz Lichte (both FSV Mainz 05) had to leave.

As soon as Bo Svensson took up his position as the new head coach in Mainz, three of his colleagues were shaking due to chronic failure: Bruno Labbadia at Hertha BSC, Markus Gisdol at 1. FC Köln and Sebastian Hoeneß at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

Their paths will cross in the next few days: Cologne will receive the Berliners for a crisis meeting on Saturday, Hoffenheim will have to go to Hertha on the following Tuesday and then receive the Cologne team.

The situation with the coaches and clubs affected:

BRUNO LABBADIA: The camel-colored coat by Bruno Labbadia has long since lost its effect.

At the end of November, the supposed talisman was still a symbol of the upswing that the Hertha coach had talked about as if unsuccessfully.

Two months later, the item of clothing belongs in the lucky charm moth box.

Big City Glamor and the European Cup are not the topic at Hertha.

After the 0: 1 at Arminia Bielefeld, the Berliners are in the middle of the relegation battle.

The team shows no development and once again let their coach down.

The focus is on two questions: Is Labbadia (54) the solution or part of the problem that the team has no structure, consistency and no team spirit?

And how long does Lars Windhorst watch the stagnation?

Formally, the investor cannot influence personnel policy, but with a volume of 374 million euros, the financier should not accept mediocrity in silence.

In addition to Labbadia, manager Michael Preetz has long been under massive pressure.

SEBASTIAN HOENESS: Uli Hoeneß's nephew is not a loudspeaker at all like the long-time Bayern maker.

The 38-year-old Bundesliga newcomer always seems prudent and reserved and is not a man for the headlines.

Recently, after Hoffenheim's 1: 3 against SC Freiburg, it broke out of him: "The course of the first half fits perfectly with the script of a horror film."

The many corona cases in autumn, the current misery of injuries - Hoeneß was badly shaken.

Patron Dietmar Hopp ("I have confidence in the people involved to cope with this situation and I have told them personally.") And Sports Director Alexander Rosen ("We have a great unity in our ranks. We go through this situation together") strengthen Hoeneß's back - but how much longer?

Despite all the adversities, the coach now has to deliver - and Rosen is part of the responsibility because he brought him.

MARKUS GISDOL: Head of sport Horst Heldt and trainer Markus Gisdol are neighbors in Cologne's Friesenviertel and also get along very well privately.

But Heldt repeatedly assures that this does not play a role in the question of the future of the coach.

In late autumn, things got really tight for the 51-year-old because FC dragged a winless series from the old season into the new one, which grew to 18 games.

The 2-1 coup in Dortmund at the end of November was a breakthrough for the coach.

Especially since he played a big part in it through two rehearsed standards and a system change to a chain of three and two false nines.

But now this system no longer works, and after zero points and 0: 6 goals in 2021, Gisdol is (again) fighting for the job.

Heldt's job guarantee is initially only valid for the next game against Hertha.

Local media therefore speak of an endgame.

At some point even the best neighborhood is of no use.
