A US congressional official revealed that supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump had a laptop stolen from the office of Speaker Nancy Pelosi as they stormed the Capitol building last Wednesday, and another Democratic senator's device was stolen.

Pelosi's aide Drew Hamill said - in a tweet on Twitter on Friday - that the laptop that was stolen "was intended for the conference room and is being used for performances in it."

and he did not mention any further details.

Democratic Senator Geoff Merkley also tweeted that a laptop computer had also disappeared from his office.

The theft of electronic devices from congressional offices has been a constant source of concern since Trump supporters stormed the building, and Acting US Attorney General Michael Sherwin said that some thefts "may endanger aspects of national security."

He stated that federal investigators are scrutinizing behind every person involved in the unrest in Congress, adding that the investigations include the role that Trump played in inciting the demonstrators, and the statements and observations of the outgoing president before the attack will be examined.

Sherwin said federal prosecutors have brought 15 criminal cases, including the arrest of a man with a semi-automatic rifle and 11 Molotov cocktails that were ready to detonate.

He added that most of the cases directed against the accused are related to unauthorized entry into the Congress building, in addition to issues related to firearms possession and theft of property.

Pictures of the drama that took place in the Capitol building show rioters who stormed the building taking turns sitting at the Senate President's office, and a picture of a Trump supporter stealing a speech platform after storming the Congress building.
