Lyon, with in particular a double from Memphis Depay, made a good operation and broke away at the top of Ligue 1 after beating Lens (3-2), Wednesday at home after a match under the sign of the offensive.

OL, who mastered the first hour rather well before suffering at the end, takes advantage of the poor performance of Paris SG (2nd), hung in Saint-Etienne (1-1) and Lille (3rd), beaten on his ground by Angers (2-1) to be three points ahead of these two clubs.

It was the Dutchman Memphis Depay who gave the Lyonnais a decisive advantage by adjusting goalkeeper Jean-Louis Leca after a three-way game with the ubiquitous Lucas Paqueta and Tino Kadewere (39).

He then increased the score to 3-0 at the start of the second period by converting a penalty awarded for a fault by Leca on Maxwel Cornet (3-0, 52).

Memphis, who scored his fifth penalty of five this season, also scored his ninth and tenth goals since the start of the championship.

In the first period, the Lyon captain, very present on the front of the attack, also missed the opportunity to open the scoring in the 10th minute with a shot passing over after a stint with Kadewere.

- Nice reaction from Lensois -

Before Memphis' second goal, OL had already worsened the score with a goal scored against his own camp by Steven Fortes after a ball pushed into his feet by Leca upon receiving a cross delivered from the right wing by Léo Dubois after a great collective action (2-0, 46).

This lead was totally deserved for Lyon which has always been in the initiative in the first hour before being more sorrowful at the end, in the face of a good reaction from the Northerners and after the changes made by OL.

Thus, Maxwel Cornet, aligned as an attacker to compensate for the package of Karl Toko Ekambi, served by Paqueta, missed his team's first opportunity in the 7th minute while an attempt by Houssem Aouar was deflected by the lensois goalkeeper (24 ).

Before Lens closed the gap with a good effect shot from Florian Sotoca (3-1, 55), OL missed the opportunity to score a fourth goal, Leca saving his team in front of Kadewere (54) as he also did so by repelling a long shot from Memphis (61).

As for the Lensois, dangerous in the first period by Jonathan Clauss who pushed Lopes to the parade (16) or by Loïc Badé upon receiving a corner (21), they have never given up on returning to the image of this intervention of the Lyon goalkeeper in front of Sotoca, again him (75).

And especially the goal of Cheikh Doucouré who beat Lopes with a shot in the top corner (3-2, 89) while other actions could also have been better negotiated before.
