"At present, the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Smolensk region have opened a criminal case on the grounds of corpus delicti under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of Russia," the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia said in a statement.
It is clarified that the case was initiated under the article on violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles, which inadvertently resulted in the death of two or more persons.
Earlier it became known that in the collision of passenger cars Hyundai and VAZ-2115 on the 16th kilometer of the south-western bypass of the city of Smolensk, six people were killed, including both drivers.
