A court in Grozny sentenced Nikita Zhuravel, who burned the Koran, to 3.5 years in a general regime colony. Earlier during the court hearing, the young man announced a partial admission of guilt.
The detainee filmed the burning of the holy book. During interrogation, he admitted that he acted on the instructions of the Ukrainian intelligence services for a reward of 10 thousand rubles. The Investigative Committee transferred the case to the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for Chechnya.
