- It is very gratifying that the vaccination will now be started jointly on 27 and 28 December in the county, in collaboration between the county's 13 municipalities and the Jönköping County Region, says regional councilor Rachel De Basso (S) in a press release.

The region holds a press conference at 11 o'clock, when the first dose of vaccine must have been given.

The municipality of Jönköping is also expected to send out press material during the day.

Already next week, the next delivery with vaccine and after that, 2,900 doses are estimated to be distributed to Jönköping County every week.

- Those who are most fragile will be offered vaccines first.

As vaccination then takes place to an increasing extent, the opportunities to slow down the pandemic and protect our inhabitants also increase, says Health and Medical Director Mats Bojestig.

The first to be offered the vaccine are people who live in special accommodation or have home care.

After that people over 70 years and staff in health and care, then people in other risk groups and finally all adults over 18 years.

- Hopefully it means the beginning to the end of this pandemic, says Malin Bengnér, infection control doctor in the Jönköping County Region.
