According to reports, from 2015 to 2019, the National Health Commission organized the China CDC, the National Cancer Center, and the National Cardiovascular Disease Center to carry out a new round of chronic disease and nutrition surveillance for Chinese residents, covering 31 provinces (regions, cities) across the country. With a population of nearly 600 million and over 600,000 on-site surveys, it is representative of the national and provincial levels. The above-mentioned report was compiled based on the monitoring results.

The report shows that the average height of Chinese adults continues to grow. The average height of 18-44-year-old Chinese men is 169.7 cm, and the average height of Chinese women is 158.0 cm, an increase of 1.2 cm and 0.8 cm respectively compared with the results released in 2015.
