Garbsen (dpa / lni) - In an Amazon distribution center in Garbsen near Hanover, around 125 employees tested positive for coronavirus.

The Hanover region announced on Monday.

Among them are many temporary workers, explained Hubert Thole from the health department.

In series tests, a total of almost 700 women and men should be tested by Tuesday (December 22).

The ten percent or so who refused to take a test are no longer allowed to enter the company premises.

Amazon has a good to very good hygiene concept, said Thole.

Typical critical points are the smoking area and the transport of employees to and from the hotel.

But Amazon has increased the number of bus tours per shift.

According to the Hanover region, the distribution center in Garbsen has already recorded 250 corona cases, but around half have already been released from quarantine. According to the company, more than 900 people are employed in Garbsen during the Christmas season.
