Frenchman Alexis Pinturault, candidate for the big crystal globe this season, was the fastest in the first round of the Alta Badia giant slalom on Sunday.

His compatriot Henrik Kristoffersen, holder of the title of the little giant globe, did little better with the twelfth time, 81 hundredths behind the leader.

It was another Norwegian, the young Atle Lie McGrath, who started with the bib 29, who created one of the beautiful sensations of this first round, very close to stealing the best time at Pinturault to finally finish fourth, at 46 hundredths. .

On the French side, Mathieu Faivre, who had a podium at Alta Badia in 2016, won the eighth fastest time (62 hundredths behind Pinturault).

Thibaut Favrot left the track.
