Regarding the Science Council of Japan, the proposals compiled by the Liberal Democratic Party's working team, which examines the ideal state of the conference, have been clarified, making it a new organization independent of the government, and the method of selecting members is a transparent and strict procedure such as voting. I'm asking you to change it.

Following the failure to appoint six member candidates recommended by the Science Council of Japan, the Liberal Democratic Party's working team has been studying the ideal way of the conference since October, and a proposal for the government has been clarified. I did.

In the draft proposal, he pointed out that "it is hard to say that the expected functions are fully exhibited" for the Japan Academic Conference, and in order to play the necessary role and ensure political neutrality, it is an independent administrative agency. It says that it should restart as a new organization independent of the government, such as corporations and special public corporations.

In addition, regarding the method of selecting members, we are requesting that we change to transparent and strict procedures such as voting, and actively consider the appointment of researchers working at companies and young researchers.

On the other hand, regarding the financial base, it is said that it is necessary to consider strengthening voluntary financial resources such as membership fees from members and donations from the private sector, but for the time being, the government needs to support it.

And we are asking the government to proceed with concrete institutional design in the next year or so.

The working team will formally finalize the recommendations at the meeting on the 9th.
