26 November 2020Alfredo Cahe, historic personal doctor of Diego Maradona, bluntly criticized the latest decisions taken for the health of the former footballer, arguing that the champion "was not treated as he should have done".

"Not only Diego should have stayed in the clinic (where he had been operated on) - he said, interviewed by Telefé - but in a widely specialized area, with a different infrastructure to that of the house where he died, similar to that which he was at his disposal when we took him to Cuba. "

In the past Cahe has lived through very difficult moments next to Maradona, when he was suffering and in physical crisis.

"In his room - he added - a doctor should always have been present", but this was not the case, to the point that in his opinion the death occurred "in an unusual way".

In the interview, Cahe also criticized the way in which the surgery for the subdural hematoma was carried out in the Olivos Clinic, last November 4th.

"The cardiovascular examination - he indicated - was not carried out in a complete form. Diego did not have the necessary protection. I did not understand why there was so much urgency to operate. I have many doubts left. There was no need to perform it. surgery so quickly ".

Finally Cahe revealed that for the last few days Maradona was living in a deep state of depression.

"Diego was very sad - he said - and his psychologist called me to tell me that the morale of the former footballer" was on the ground. "A woman close to him - he concluded - told me that he felt deeply distressed, depressed , and who argued that 'he had nothing left to do in life.' "
