The dissolution of the Turkish ultra-nationalist movement of Gray Wolves will be pronounced, Wednesday, November 4, in the Council of Ministers, announced Monday the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin before the Law Commission of the National Assembly.

This is "a group of particularly aggressive facts, to put it mildly," assured Gerald Darmanin, whose announcement comes in a context of strong diplomatic tensions between France and Turkey around the treatment of Muslims in France.

The small group of Gray Wolves has been singled out after incidents last week between Turkish and Armenian communities in Décines-Charpieu, near Lyon.

On Wednesday evening, the police intervened in this city, high place of the Armenian diaspora, to prevent 250 members of the Turkish community, fined in the end for non-respect of the curfew, to "do battle" with the Armenians.

A pitched battle

The same day, in the morning, a brawl had opposed these two communities on the A7 motorway, at the Vienna toll, leaving four injured, including one serious.

An inscription "Gray Wolves" was also tagged on the genocide memorial and the Armenian National Center of Memory near Lyon, desecrated during the night from Saturday to Sunday.

The prefect P.MAILHOS strongly condemns the degradations committed last night against the CNMA and the Armenian genocide memorial of #Decines.

He gives his full support to the Armenian community.

Everything will be done to find the authors of these profanations.

This ultranationalist group, whose rallying sign is a thumb attached to the middle and ring fingers, is known to be close to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who recently questioned the "mental health" of Emmanuel Macron.

During his hearing in the Assembly, Gérald Darmanin also indicated that the dissolution of the Collective against Islamophobia in France (CCIF), announced in the wake of the assassination of Samuel Paty on October 16, would be examined "in 15 days ".
