“President Cyril Ramaphosa began self-isolation due to a positive diagnosis for COVID-19 in one of the guests at a dinner that the president attended on Saturday, October 24, 2020,” the statement said.
It is noted that the event was held in a Johannesburg hotel, 35 people attended the dinner.
The administration of the South African leader clarified that Cyril Ramaphosa will perform his duties remotely and will comply with quarantine rules.
Earlier it became known that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov went into self-isolation due to contact with a patient with a coronavirus infection.
