The death of a former Egyptian deputy after his wife won the elections

The former parliamentarian in Egypt, Ahmed Abu Hajji, died after a heart attack, at the age of 70, after the announcement of the preliminary indicators for counting the votes in the 2020 House of Representatives elections in the district of Sohag, and the victory of his wife Olfat Al-Mazalawi, the candidate on the "For Egypt" list.

Before his death, Abu Haji was on a tour of the electoral commissions with his wife. After the polling stations were closed, he went to his home to rest, after which he suffered a heart attack, and was transferred to a private hospital and then Sohag University Hospital, where he died, according to Egyptian media.
