Magnus Bergström has examined IT systems in healthcare for 15 years.

According to him, there is a detailed set of rules for how Swedish healthcare companies may handle personal data - such as digital medical records.

- When setting up an IT environment that handles sensitive data, it places high demands on the systems to have the protection required.

It also means that you have to maintain the system and update yourself on the latest technology.

It is not possible to start up a system and leave it to spin in its loneliness.

How do you know it's not being neglected?

- There is an obligation to report incidents to us, but we also conduct regular inspections of, among other things, healthcare to ensure that the regulations are complied with.

We have 14 ongoing supervisory cases in healthcare right now.

"You do not have to be a genius"

He does not see it as unbelievable that a similar attack as in Finland would also take place in Sweden.

- I have a hard time believing that there are no people in Sweden who want to commit extortion attempts.

Finding vulnerabilities in IT systems and using malicious code that exploits those systems is not very advanced.

You do not have to be a genius, says Magnus Bergström.

A data breach such as that in Finland could also occur in Sweden, states the Minister of the Interior Mikael Damberg.

Damberg: Can not rule out similar attacks

Minister of the Interior Mikael Damberg, who is responsible for questions about Sweden's IT security, calls the hacker attack in Finland an "alarm clock".

He also does not want to rule out that similar attacks may affect Sweden.

- I do not think you should be afraid, but you should be aware that it can happen in Sweden as well.

Sweden and Finland are very similar, said Mikael Damberg in Morgonstudion.

Will the government take any extra action now?

- The first thing we do is try to learn from Finland.

It seems that this company has not done the right thing.

The attacks must be reported so that the authorities can intervene.
