“

Regarding student parties, there are unfortunately many of you who do not take your responsibility… We cannot let universities become centers of transmission!

 "

The words of Matilda Ernkrans, the Swedish Minister for Higher Education, were unequivocal.

The 400,000 Swedish students are perhaps not the only ones responsible for the increase in contamination in Sweden, but it is in their age group that we find the most sick today.

This is not a problem for them, this population being very little affected by the serious forms of the disease.

But it can be much more tragic for the older ones, which they can infect.

No holiday ban

For the health authorities, it is not a question of banning parties, but of organizing them by respecting a few rules: no more than 50 people, stay in your usual group of friends, and - this is the main recommendation in Sweden - keep your distance.

For now, the goal is to educate young people.

But if this contamination is accelerating, it is another threat weighing on students: that of the closure of universities, as had already been the case between March and July.
