“Today we have no sick schoolchildren.

Children unlearned for a month - these are two incubations, two incubation periods ... There is no spread within schools, ”Popova said.

According to her, in 55-95% (depending on the subject) of cases, the coronavirus in children is asymptomatic.

At the same time, one child with coronavirus can infect up to four children, which is a small indicator of foci, Popova added.

"As an example, I can cite an acute intestinal infection ... there is a focal factor of 1:40," said the head of Rospotrebnadzor.

She stressed that there is ongoing monitoring of the state of healthy senior schoolchildren, students of secondary specialized education and students of higher education.

“We see some increase in the number of detected carriers of COVID ... And I want to say that among schoolchildren in the first week it was 0.5%, and in the second - a little more than 1%.

And now the third week has shown that the number of children with COVID carriers does not exceed 2% in schools, ”said Popova.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education said that 94 schools were closed in Russia due to coronavirus at the end of last week, while 34 educational institutions had already lifted quarantine.
