13 September 2020Covid does not stop, in America and India the numbers are still impressive.

The death toll from the coronavirus globally has exceeded 920 thousand, as certified by the counts of Johns Hopkins University. According to the American university, to date there are 920,231 deaths in the world compared to 28,759,036 cases.

But there is also a resurgence in Europe, particularly in France.

France, over 10 thousand cases in one day

The French health authorities have formalized 10,561 new confirmed cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, a daily record: it is the first time that the wall of 10 thousand daily infections has been "broken".

The latest daily toll, which exceeds the previous record of 9,843 new infections reported Thursday, highlights a resurgence of the disease in France.

The increase has led the government to outline further measures to avoid a return to the general lockdown implemented previously.

The prime minister, Jean Castex, has promised measures to speed up testing and strengthen local measures in high-contagion areas.

United States, almost 6 and a half million cases

The country most affected for weeks now remains the United States, with 6,485,222 cases.

Over 193 thousand have died since the beginning of the epidemic.

India steadily over 90,000 cases per day

India recorded more than 94,000 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours.

It is the fourth consecutive day that the country has seen more than 90,000 new infections.

According to the Ministry of Health, there are 94,551 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,114 new deaths.

Thus, according to official data, the total cases of coronavirus in the country rise to 4,754,356, including 78,586 victims since the beginning of the pandemic.

Of these, 3,702,595 patients have recovered while 973,175 are still infected with the virus.

India is the second most affected country, behind only the United States.

Bolsonaro heals in Brazil

Brazil, one of the countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic, third for infections after the US and India and second for deaths after the United States and India, recorded 33,523 new confirmed cases and 814 deaths in 24 hours .

In the meantime, after a long course, President Jair Bolsonaro, positive since 7 July last, has recovered.

The government reported that the total number of infected now stands at 4,315,687, while the number of victims has risen to 131,210.

The daily numbers are down compared to the previous days even if this is partly due to the fact that on weekends the most remote municipalities do not send data.

Technically "healed", among the 3,553 million Brazilian infected, also President Jair Bolsonaro himself, his wife, two of their five children and several government ministers.

Another 631,056 patients, including some governors, are under medical supervision after testing positive in clinical tests.

The state of Sao Paulo (890,690 confirmed cases and 36,822 deaths), in the south-eastern region, remains the most affected.

Following the slowdown in infections, in Brazil there is a gradual return of activities, with the reopening of shops, restaurants, museums and some public events with a limited number of people.
