12 September 2020From Monday the rules for entering Sardinia change.

Governor Christian Solinas signed the new restrictive ordinance anticovid: from September 14, passengers entering the island are "invited" to present a certificate of negativity to the virus when boarding ships and planes or to self-certify that they have tested negative for a serological test , molecular or antigenic.

In the absence of this they "accept" to carry out a swab within 48 hours of arrival and to communicate the result to the local health authorities.

The same ordinance immediately imposes the obligation to wear masks 24 hours a day even outdoors in cases where it is not possible to respect the distance of one meter.

Passengers without the test on departure who agree to swab in Sardinia are obliged to remain in the trustee home isolation pending the results of the exam.

Excluded categories

The invitation to tests for those entering the island does not apply to certain categories: those who carry out activities functional to constitutional bodies, crew of means of transport, personnel traveling on trains and airplanes for work and health reasons.

All passengers before boarding are in any case required - and the ordinance reiterates this - to register with the forms that can be downloaded from the Region's website, and then transmitted by telemaic, or through the secure Sardegna app.

Finally, in view of the reopening of the schools, which kicks off on the island on 22 September, with the latest provision signed by Solinas, the occupancy of seats on local public transport is increased to 80%.

The new restrictive measures on the entrances contained in the ordinance were decided after the surge of infections at the turn of August 15th linked above all to the summer nightlife of the Costa Smeralda, with the arrival in Sardinia of thousands of tourists.
