A dramatic accident at work occurred Thursday morning around 11 a.m. at Pouliguen (Loire-Atlantique).

A 39-year-old man died of a crash after falling from a branch weighing more than 300 kg, reports

According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim was a pruner who worked for a private individual.

When pruning a pine tree, an operation he was performing with a colleague, a branch broke.

The man was on the ground "to pick up the pieces of wood that had fallen beforehand," and could not avoid the branch, the newspaper said.

An investigation has been opened to find out more about the circumstances of this tragedy.
